National Hurricane Preparedness Week runs from May 6 - 12. As Floridians, we all know that preparing for hurricane season ahead of time is critical.
After an active Atlantic hurricane season in 2018, experts are predicting the 2019 season to result in slightly above normal activity with 12 to 14 named storms. Experts are calling for a 28% chance that a major hurricane will hit the East Coast or the Florida Peninsula (the long-term average is 31%.) But as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) warns, "It only takes one storm to change your life and community."
