Graco Recalls Car Seats

by BROOKE GOLD HASSON | Feb 14, 2014

Graco has recalled 3.7 million car seats because of problems with the buckles, with the potential for up to 1.8 million more car seats to be recalled as the government tests them. Currently, it’s the fourth-largest recall of car seats in U.S. history.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall of 11 car seat models because the harness buckles can become stuck are or very difficult for adults to unlatch. This makes them very dangerous in case of an emergency where a child needs to be quickly removed from a seat.

Thankfully, Graco says there have been no reported injuries as a result of stuck buckles, so this is a safe, preventative measure. The recall covers seats that were made from 2009 to July 2013. Seats made after July 2013 have an improved buckle system.
