Peter Coleman, CPCU, CLU
Senior Vice President, Operations
Peter Coleman joined Peoples Trust Insurance in August, 2009. He brings an extensive amount of personal lines insurance experience heading company underwriting, managing large operations centers and leading a variety of company marketing initiatives.
While employed with Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company, Coleman served as Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Vice President of the Southeastern Regional Operations Profit Center and Director of Corporate Underwriting where he was chief underwriter for the company’s national underwriting program. These assignments were housed in Florida , Illinois and several locations in New Jersey. His responsibilities included chief underwriting executive of multiple regional underwriting centers; leading the everyday activities, expansion and contraction of large and medium size customer operations centers; and managing major corporate initiatives involving strategic alliances, customer management and agency management.
Coleman has served on the Board of Directors of NJ Fair Access to Insurance Requirements (FAIR), ISO Commercial Risk Services and 100 Hidden Bay Condominium Association and chaired Prudential community partnerships with United Way, Spirit of Community, Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and Oak Brook Chapter of Minority Interchange. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designations. He has also instructed numerous pre-licensing, continuing education and CPCU classes for Atlantic Insurance School, Brookdale Community College and Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance.
People's Trust has a comprehensive and substantial reinsurance program. The program has been designed to protect People's Trust policyholder surplus in the event of a major catastrophe. People's Trust has placed catastrophe excess of loss reinsurance up to the 100 year modeled return period for its entire portfolio of insureds
