Joyce Wright
Chief Claims Officer
Joyce Wright brings valuable experience and accomplishment in the global insurance industry to People’s Trust. Wright is known as an expert in developing claims programs and designing and managing catastrophe claims procedures. She has achieved great success by designing and leading innovative claims programs to increase operating efficiencies resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in savings to the bottom line.
Throughout her career she has managed international and domestic claims in the U.S.A, London,Sydney, and Zurich, with operations in 100 countries. Wright has worked for global insurance giants Zurich Financial Services (Chief Claims Officer) AIG (Regional Claims Manager) , USAA (Vice-President)and for the insurance consulting arm of KPMG (Head of Claims).
Internationally Wright guided several insurance mergers, incorporating expense savings and newly defined strategies into the newly merged groups.
In 2000, Wright was named as one of the “People to Watch in 2000” (January 2000) by Best Review magazine. She is also one of the founding editors of the International Advantage magazine, was named as one of the “100 Leading Women in Insurance (Oct.2000) by Business Insurance, and received an award as Outstanding alumna of University of Maryland (May 2006).She has also received several awards for her accomplishments in the global insurance arena.
Wright received her graduate degree in international business and undergraduate degrees in business from the University of Maryland (UMUC).
People's Trust has a comprehensive and substantial reinsurance program. The program has been designed to protect People's Trust policyholder surplus in the event of a major catastrophe. People's Trust has placed catastrophe excess of loss reinsurance up to the 100 year modeled return period for its entire portfolio of insureds
