Deborah Murphy
Chief Operating Officer
Debbie Murphy is a successful business leader with extensive experience in the insurance industry. She joined People’s Trust on March 30, 2009. Prior to joining People’s Trust Insurance, Debbie was employed at USAA in San Antonio where she served as Vice President of Underwriting. In that role, she was responsible for the national personal lines underwriting programs and results and led departments involving underwriting, product development, product management, business analysis, portfolio management and the development of innovative business initiatives. While at USAA, Debbie also served as Vice President, East Zone Operations and a number of additional executive positions in underwriting and operational capacities. Prior to USAA, Debbie worked for Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company in Holmdel, NJ as Director of Underwriting where she was responsible for the national automobile and umbrella programs.
Debbie has served on the Board of Directors for the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) in Tallahassee and KLRN Public Television in San Antonio. She holds a Bachelors Degree from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ, a Master of Business Administration from Monmouth College in West Long Branch, NJ and holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
People's Trust has a comprehensive and substantial reinsurance program. The program has been designed to protect People's Trust policyholder surplus in the event of a major catastrophe. People's Trust has placed catastrophe excess of loss reinsurance up to the 100 year modeled return period for its entire portfolio of insureds
